Aero Fighters (Taiwan / Japan, set 1)
A superb vertically scrolling shoot-em-up in which the player chooses an ace fighter pilot from a selection of 4 countries (USA, Japan, Sweden and Britain) and takes to the skies to destroy enemy jets, boats, helicopters, gun emplacements and huge end-of-level bosses. Features colorful, detailed 2-D graphics and a good level of challenge.

Changed region gfx3 to gfx2 ($200000).
- 0.135u1: Corrado Tomaselli verified/changed clocks and VSync to 61.31 Hz in Aero Fighters.
- 0.129u3: Angelo Salese added preliminary sound for clones Aero Fighters (bootleg set 1) and (bootleg set 2).
- 26th July 2008: Mr. Do - Funny story. Tormod sent me a BUNCH of instruction cards a long time ago. You've probably been seeing them added in every so often. Well, around July of last year, I had completed a whole bunch of them, but then had a computer crash, and they ended up on the "spare" hard drive by mistake. I found them again going through a cleanup. So thanks to Tormod, this week we have Sonic Wings (JPN version of Aero Fighters).
- 0.124u4: Improvements to Aero Fighters (bootleg set 2) [Roberto Zandona]: Fixed BG1 and BG2 offset. Fixed sprites. Promoted to "working" (NO SOUND).
- 0.124u3: Roberto Zandona added clone Aero Fighters (bootleg set 2). Changed description of clone '(bootleg)' to 'Aero Fighters (bootleg set 1)'.
- 0.124u2: Aero Fighters (bootleg) improvements [Roberto Zandona]: Sprite offset are now correct. Split spriteram in two parts. Identified last sprite for the two parts and promoted to "working" (no sound).
- 0.124u1: Roberto Zandona fixed clone Aero Fighters (bootleg): Fixed spriteram3 (previous value was too high and in the "city" level some build disappear. Sprite gfx bank (previously some sprite appear right and some sprite was wrong). Fixed perfectly the sprite zoom. Removed multisprite support; in the bootleg aren't present.

The ship explosion in the attract mode animation is jagged at the four corners. This doesn't happen in the original. Both of the above might be caused by some hardware zoom support. There are graphics for different tiles (Sonic Wings, The Final War) but I haven't found a way to display them - different program, maybe.
