Osman (World)
A platform shoot-em-up that doesn't just 'borrow heavily' from Capcom's 1989 classic, "Strider", it blatantly steals from it. The player controls a 'Cannon Dancer' called Kirrin : a highly acrobatic hero who is also a skilled martial arts fighter. Kirrin must jump and fight his way over a number of colourful, intricately-rendered levels in his bid to defeat the enemy forces. In addition to the many power-ups that are availble to strengthen Kirrin's attacks (with each power-up indicated by a colour change to Kirrin's costume), the player is armed with three 'Magic' attacks per life, which work in a similar fashion to those of Sega's "Shinobi".
The Strider-esque gameplay is, if anything, an improvement over the illustrious game upon which it is based. As well as the mandatory improved graphics, understandable given the six years that separates the two games, OSman's level design is hugely inventive and offers more variety than Strider's stages.

WIP:
- 0.136: Added eeprom-osman.bin EEPROM.
- 3rd June 2007: Mr. Do - Scanned instruction card for Cannon Dancer provided by Tormod.
- 0.99u1: David Haywood changed Osman default EEPROM - Osman and Cannon Dancer are currently configured to 3 buttons, its possible the game was never released with a 2 button configuration.
- 0.99: David Haywood fixed a graphics glitch in Osman.
- 0.98u4: David Haywood added Cannon Dancer (Japan). Changed description to 'Osman (World)'. Changed OKI6295 clock speed to 7627 Hz - Game now playable.
- 1st August 2005: Tomasz Slanina - Fixed a bug in the ARM CPU core, which in turn fixed the colours in Osman.
- 31st July 2005: David Haywood - Final 156 update for tonight... General: Added Sprites, EEPROM settings don't work on any game and No Sound. Osman / Cannon Dancer: Still doesn't boot without going into the debugger. Has problems with Sprite colours (16-bit ram on 32-bit bus maybe?) and tile banking. Also tilemaps don't seem large enough at the moment.
- 30th July 2005: David Haywood - Found a way to get Osman to boot via the debugger.
- 0.84: David Haywood added Osman (Mitchell 1996).
- 1st June 2002: Guru - Received Osman (Mitchell 1996) from Pelle. Running on Data East hardware with unknown CPU!
