Minelvaton Saga - Ragon no Fukkatsu (Jpn) - ミネルバトンサーガ ラゴンの復活
Minelvaton Saga: Ragon no Fukkatsu (ミネルバトンサーガ ラゴンの復活) is a Role Playing Game published by Taito Corporation for the Family Computer. It is the first game in the Minelvaton series, being followed by Silva Saga and ending with Silva Saga II: The Legend of Light and Darkness.
A tribute CD Minelvaton Saga Tribute was published in 2009.
Initially, the game plays and looks like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy but there are some minor differences. At first, the player is given control of a single character and can explore, in overhead view, a limited amount of towns, dungeons and the world map. When the player receives the ship for sailing, the game becomes very nonlinear and the player can explore almost anywhere that is available. One of the features that does make this game different than Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy is the games battle system. There are random battles, but unlike the games mentioned, Minelvaton Saga turns into an action rpg when battles are engaged. In battle, the player starts at the bottom of the screen with the enemy at the top. In order to defeat the enemy the player must run into the enemy from the side in order to win the fight. This system is very similar to the battle system in Hydlide and Ys.
