* Free Credits : Ever wonder why the attract mode says "Go for 98%"? It's because if you cover at least 98% of the playing surface, you're rewarded with a free credit. This is very possible if you get the 'freeze' powerup.
Super Qix (World, Rev 1) and M.A.M.E.
0.131u3 [Stefan Lindberg]
0.31 [Mirko Buffoni, Nicola Salmoria]
WIP:
- 0.146: hap added NMI ack for Super Qix bootlegs.
- 0.131u4: ShimaPong fixed coin issue clone Super Qix (World, Rev 1).
- 0.131u3: Stefan Lindberg added Super Qix (World, Rev 2). Dr. Decapitator and Nicola Salmoria added I8751 ROM to clone Super Qix (US). Nicola Salmoria fixed sqix/sqixa bootleg MCU bad dump by comparison with the original. Changed description of 'Super Qix (set 1)' to 'Super Qix (World, Rev 1)' and clones 'Super Qix (set 2)' to 'Super Qix (bootleg set 1)' and 'Super Qix (bootleg)' to 'Super Qix (bootleg set 2)'. Renamed (sqix) to (sqixr1), (sqixa) to (sqixb1) and (sqixbl) to (sqixb2).
- 6th May 2009: Guru - Chip 8751 found on Super Qix B03_08.2L has just been decapped and dumped.
- 0.125u7: Couriersud fixed sprites slowdown.
- 15th March 2008: Guru - Super Qix PCB arrived, thanks to madness.
- 0.119u3: Added clone Super Qix (US).
- 0.93u2: Nicola Salmoria fixed 2 Player game in Super Qix.
- 31st January 2005: Dumping Project - Randy bagged a 'Super Qix' board for possible trojaning.
- 0.90: Super Qix driver update [Nicola Salmoria]. Manually repaired the ROM code and added support for the I8751 MCU, so the two original sets work. Swapped Super Qix (set 1) and (set 2), because the former was dumped from a bootleg board (though there's no reason to believe the ROMs were modified, so I didn't mark it as bootleg). Added I8751 (4MHz) CPU2.
- 0.84u1: David Haywood added clone Super Qix (set 2). Changed parent description to 'Super Qix (set 1)'. Renamed (superqix) to (sqix).
- 4th March 2003: David Haywood converted the Super Qix driver to the tilemap system.
- 0.34b5: Mirko Buffoni fixed sprite flipping in Super Qix.
- 0.34b3: Juan Carlos Lorente added high score saving to Super Qix.
- 0.33b7: Super Qix might be running at the proper speed now [Nicola Salmoria]. Known issues: Sprite flipping is not emulated.
- 0.31: Mirko Buffoni and Nicola Salmoria added Super Qix (Taito 1987) and clone (bootleg). Known issues: Speed is wrong (much too slow). Sprite flipping is not emulated. Due to protection, the original version doesn't work. Use the bootleg instead.
