Tomb Raider (Euro, USA, Prototype)
Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game, released in 2000 for the Game Boy Color. The title was developed by Core Design and was published by Eidos Interactive and THQ. This release is significant as it is the first portable game in the Tomb Raider series, followed by Tomb Raider: Curse of the Sword and Tomb Raider: The Prophecy, and the first Tomb Raider game not to be rated T by the ESRB. Although it shares its title with the first entry in the series, Tomb Raider for Game Boy Color follows a different storyline.

Characters
- Lara Croft
- Professor Igor Bowmane: Professor Bowmane is an old friend and colleague of Lara Croft, working in the Ancient Artefact department at the university of Moscow. He contacts Lara to tell her of an ancient manuscript which recounts the legend of the Nightmare Stone. His friend Illiat is looking for the artefact, but has warned Bowmane that there are other "interested parties" looking for the manuscript.
- Illiat:: Illiat is an archaeologist from Peru and friend of Professor Igor Bowmane. He was last seen in the Amazon searching for the Nightmare Stone, but learned that other parties were interested in the artefact. Unsure of their motives, Illiat told them nothing. Lara was to meet him at the site of the temple, only to find his camp deserted. When Lara finds him in the temple, he is near death.
- Quaxet: An evil ruler wielding great power, Quazet ruled over Maya, Inca and Aztec lands. One day the three nations battled Quaxet as three high priests imprisoned his spirit in the artefact known as the Nightmare Stone. To prevent anyone from unleashing Quaxet, the stone was locked inside an obelisk which was buried in a temple deep within the Amazon. Although Quaxet doesn't appear during the game, he plays an important role in the backstory of this game.
